Snow-covered forests, majestic stony giants, crisp snow and perfectly groomed ski and cross-country ski slopes. Your holiday on Plan de Corones gives you this and much more.
A landscape made for a skiing or cross-country skiing holiday in the Val Badia, in San Vigilio. There are certainly many beautiful landscapes around the world, but our local mountains, here at San Vigilio, have a very special charm …
The “Black Five” ski runs, 120 kilometres of slopes, 32 ski lifts, direct access to the Sellaronda circuit – all this and much more is yours at the Plan de Corones, South Tyrol’s No. 1 ski area. Although here at San Vigilio di Marebbe, you’re also within easy reach of other ski resorts. Your host Marco will be happy to accompany you during your skiing adventure.
The snow glitters like a carpet of diamonds, surrounded by the great rocky giants, snow-covered meadows and forests stretch far into the distance; you can forget your daily routine and just enjoy the magic of the moment as you glide along on your skis. This cross-country track leads from San Vigilio to Pederü Mountain Hut, a distance of 24 km; it suits both the classic and skating style, and can either be covered all at once or divided into six stages. Treat yourself to a break along the way in the warm atmosphere of a mountain hut restaurant.
Starting point: Cianross ski lift upper station, where you can rent a toboggan. From there, you can whizz down a run next to the ski slope, travelling through the woods for about 680 m on a great sledge run. The track is also floodlit twice a week, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., so you can enjoy a wonderful ride under the stars.
With a maximum 61 % gradient, the Erta is classed as one of the famous “Black Five” ski runs. A very tricky run, and so an excellent choice for competitions. If you want to test yourself against some of the biggest names in skiing, have a go on this slope. The women’s giant slalom competition for the FIS World Cup takes place here every year. Do you have nerves of steel? Are you up to this formidable challenge?
There are so many hiking trails in and around San Vigilio, all of them wonderfully evocative. You can combine some of these hikes with a rest stop at a mountain hut, such as Rifugio Fanes, Rifugio Lavarella or Rifugio Sennes which all make good starting points for other ski or snowshoe hikes. Many hikes and walks also leave straight from our B&B: we will be more than happy to share our experiences and give you some helpful advice.
